  • Cyprus Property is Hot! There are 20 million northern Europeans (European baby boomers) that will be retiring in the next 4 years which is a great number and many will be British. With warm weather, low crime rate, low cost of living in Cyprus and English speaking population, do you think Cyprus will have enough properties for every one?
Update on How & Where to get H1N1 (flu) Vaccine in Cyprus

Here is the most recent news and an update to my last H1N1 post. After all the annoucements by Cyprus Minister of Health regarding the incoming H1N1 vaccine it is still not available however, it should be soon. The last 10 days of November they are expected to be administering it at the general hospitals around the island. To be prepared and able to get it as soon as it is available you will need to do the following. Firstly, you must go to your local family doctor who will examine and evaluate you. If you qualify for the vaccine your doctor will write you a letter stating that you have an underlying medical condition that puts you at high risk for complications from H1N1. High rish groups include children, those with asthma, diabetes, pregnant women, people on chemotherapy or those with otherwise compromised immune systems. Once you have the letter from your family doctor, you will then take it to the local, general hospital where they will adminster the shot. So far, no complications have been associated with getting the shot and for many the benefits far outweigh the risk of getting a vaccination just like with the seasonal flu shot.

***UPDATE as of November 3rd, 2009****:

It was just announced on TV that they will finally be giving the H1N1 vaccination as of November 23 but they only have 50,000 doses. The population is about 700,000.  So now we are waiting to see who they will give it to after they vaccinate health care workers and pregnant women.

Even though this is a property website, we feel that this information is important and relevant to those living in, planning to relocate to or those currently living in Cyprus.  We hope you find this helpful in gaining knowledge about living in Cyprus.
